The Titans must make this Trade before the 2025 NFL Season

Jessie Rogers/Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans will enter a new era in 2025, as the team used the No.1 overall pick on quarterback Cam Ward and will look to rebound after an abysmal 2024 campaign, which consisted of a 3-14 record and general manager Ran Carthon getting fired.

With Ward set to take over as Tennessee’s No.1 quarterback, there is no point in having Will Levis on the roster. The Kentucky product underwhelmed in 2024 after a promising rookie campaign and doesn’t have a long-term future with the Titans.

General manager Mike Borgonzi decided not to trade Levis during the draft, but Tennessee should absolutely move him before the start of the regular season and get some type of value back. There is one landing spot for Levis that makes too much sense.

Titans should trade Will Levis to Saints before the season

The Saints will have a new starter under center in 2025, as Derek Carr retired due to a shoulder injury that needed surgery and would’ve caused a lengthy rehab.

New Orleans used a second-round pick in the draft on Tyler Shough, who is currently projected to be the starter. The team also has Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener on the roster.

Shough has potential, but bringing in another quarterback to compete for the starting job with the Louisville product would be a logical move from the Saints. And Will Levis is their guy.

Levis has starting experience and has shown flashes of excellence. He still has exciting arm talent, and there’s no denying his toughness. The 25-year-old could keep New Orleans somewhat competitive this year, if that’s their plan.

It’s unlikely that Tennessee moves Levis any time soon. However, this feels like the Malik Willis situation all over again. Willis had an outstanding preseason in 2024, and the Titans ended up trading him to the Green Bay Packers ahead of the regular season. Willis had a ton of success as Green Bay’s starter last year when Jordan Love missed time due to injury.

Tennessee could just repeat the Willis trade this year, this time with Levis to the Saints. Obviously, Levis will have to post an impressive preseason for this to happen, but it’s not totally out of the question.

We’ll see what happens with Levis over the next few months, but I just can’t envision a scenario where he’s on the Titans’ roster in Week 1. If he has a nice preseason, call the Saints and see if you can strike a deal with the quarterback-needy franchise.
