4 free agents the Titans should target before training camp!

The Tennessee Titans will kick off training camp in under a month, as the team will hit the practice field starting July 23.

With training camp on the horizon, let’s go over four free agents the Titans should sign to bolster the roster.

TITANS CAP SPACE (PER OTC): $30 Million

Offensive Tackle George Fant

The Titans’ depth at offensive tackle is horrid. Their best backup tackle currently is Jaelyn Duncan, and we’ve already seen how that movie plays out.

Fant played in just two games last year due to injury and is 32 years old. However, he has starting experience at both left and right tackle and would be a solid backup option behind JC Latham and Dan Moore Jr.

Additionally, the Titans brought Fant in for a visit back in April, so they showed interest in the veteran offensive tackle at one point this offseason. This move is a no-brainer for Tennessee, and one they should make ASAP.

Offensive tackle Jedrick Jedrick Wills Jr.

Wills was expected to be a long-term starter on the Cleveland Browns’ offensive line, but injuries and inconsistent play have held back the 2020 No.10 overall pick.

A reunion with Bill Callahan in Tennessee could be what Wills needs to jumpstart his career again. The 26-year-old is another potential depth option the Titans could sign who will be cheap. Spotrac projects Wills will land a one-year deal worth $2.2 million, which general manager Mike Borgonzi should be more than willing to pay.

Linebacker Kyzir White

Outside of Cody Barton, the Titans don’t have a linebacker with much starting experience.

White started all 17 games for the Cardinals last season, totaling 137 tackles with nine tackles for loss and 39 defensive stops. The 29-year-old has started 73 games through his first seven seasons and would be a seamless fit in Dennard Wilson’s attacking defense.

Tennessee could give one of the young linebackers (James Williams, Cedric Gray, Otis Reese IV) a chance to compete for the starting spot next to Barton in training camp.

However, if they aren’t comfortable with any of those three as the starter, they could sign White, who shouldn’t cost more than $5 million annually to sign.

Guard/Center Cody Whitehair

If the Titans want to bring in a veteran interior lineman to compete for a depth spot, Whitehair is their guy.

Whitehair has starting experience at both guard and center, and could fill in as the starting center to start the season if Lloyd Cushenberry isn’t ready to return from his Achilles tear.

And like everyone else on this list, Whitehair should be cheap to sign, and there is zero risk to adding him to the offensive line.
